Is Portable storage a good value?

I am moving and I have quoted PODS (Using a discount cde, R181) and its over $1,300 cheaper than a traditional moving service.  My question is, what kind of service do you get from pods?  I would rather load and unload myself, I just dont want to drive fifteen hundred miles with my kids in a big rental truck. It seems like a good option (The discount code accounted for over $250 in savings.)

Smile, it's contagious!

Have moved using both types ~ moving service for long distance & pods for local.  The delivery of pod was as promised with no difficulties; pod was loaded by myself.  I purchased a lock from them for $6 which was mine to keep.  They provided a foul-weather cover that zipped closed.  Nice feature in case of rain.  Insurance could also be purchased for value of items in storage.  They picked up pod within 3 business days of calling as agreed to on initial call. 

 

I think this is really the way to go for short distance.  No hassel!  If the company you choose does long distance delivery go for it.

saving is behaving!!

if You are in the Tri-state Area you should keep your stuff at http://www.storagedeluxe.com it is cheap and the quality there is awesome. They kept my stuff in great shape and i was really satisfied.
