How long do most portable air conditioners last with normal use? Do they outlast central air conditioners?
The average lifespan is 6 or so years, but it could be longer with good maintenance. Depends also on how much it is used, and the quality of the unit.

Anything that is portable can even last for about 10 years, depending on it usage. It is better that your appliances should be tested once in awhile with PAT testing equipment to know if they are still in good stand.
