Pork thyroid for hypothyroid

I have been switched to pork thyroid since armour has been hard to get. I feel much better on it, but have awful gas and bloating. There is nothing in the compound that I am allergic to and pharmacist says it is the way it it metabolized ( the gallbladder vrs the liver) what can I do to correct this side effect?

Smile, it's contagious!

Take another pill.  Ranitidine (Zantac) for the gas.  Or, any other of the many products marketed for this purpose.  I use the above.  It seem to help prevent the gas before it forms.

Bye, Son!

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

Joanne-

I cannot concur with C1's advice. I do not think taking a pill to counter the side effects of another pill is wise.

I do not agree with the information that you received from your pharmacist.

The best I can tell is that your medication has not been changed in theory. Only the manufacturer has been changed. (Both are mixture sof T3 and T4.)

There certainly could be some difference in the amount of each hormone in the pill depending upon the manufacturer. I would think that you are getting a larger proportion of T3 in what you are taking now compared to the Amour thyroid and that this is responsible for your symptoms.
