Ever since I can remember my ears 'pop' when I swallow, as you'd expect them to when your in a plane etc. It's really quite loud.
As far as I understand this normally means there's some kind of imbalance of pressure in the sinuses behind the ear drums.
I have slightly lesser hearing in my right ear, but I have no idea if this is caused by this. I asked my doctor when I last went in for a check up, he looked down my ears but said nothing was wrong. I wasn't really impressed by the effort he made, but he meant what he said.
I tried a combo of ear wax remover, menthol crystal vapour, albas oil on the pillow case and regular sucking on polo mints to no positive effect whatsoever. They just keep on popping.
It's gone on for so long so i don't really notice it unless I pay attention and it causes me no proper discomfort. However it would be nice to hear from anyone who knows about it or has something similar, I understand it's fairly common ailment.
