Problem: bathtub pop-up stopper. My bathtub stopper is not connected to a lever. It is one of those that you push to seal, push again to release. Sealing isn't the problem. Releasing is. Once I've pushed the stopper to seal, it takes SEVERAL pushes to release. I've unscrewed the top part of the stopper, but am clewless as to what to do next. The stopper screws onto a plastic cylinder. Should I remove that....if so, how. What should I be looking for as to the cause of this problem? Any help appreciated.
