A common currency is what the members of the European community have been trying to work out.

Do you really think that people will prosper when they have to exchange their currency every time they cross state lines? What happens should New York refuse to accept New Jersey currency? What happens to commerce when the exchange values change daily? Would national corporations do better when they have to do business in fifty different currencies?

Once New Jersey is free to print its own currency, why can't Jersey City do the same?

And once Jersey City is free to print its own currency, what can't the Greenville section do the same?

And once the Greenville section is free to print its own currency, why can't the southern tip of Greenville do the same?

And finally, if the southern tip of Greenville is free to print its own currency, what can't the residents of a local apartment building do the same?

Pointios, you are suggesting turning the clock back to the Articles of Confederation when each state printed its own currency, when the government lacked the resources to put together a navy to fight pirate attacks.

It is questionable that our govt. is running the defense dept & the military  very well...,Were in a bad state;big business has operated very inefficiently & it's not a certainty that our govt. will do any better. But , based on what has happened in the last two decades ,it may be worth a try.Sadly there is so much special interests between our Congress ,& big business ,neither agency is working for the best interests of the American people. All of it should be transparent & above board. But,again ,there is too much business conducted under the table.

It's ok for the Republicans to run up a deficit but a disaster when the Democrats do it???  As least the Obama administration will spend most of the money to rebuild the domestic ecomony instead of Iraq. Somehow I suspect that's what your really afraid of the fact the Goverment just might succeed and the Republican incompetance of the last eight years will be just a bad memory!!!

It sounds like you're just spitting out the half-chewed, bad news that CNN and MSNBC feed the public.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs : watch that and then tell me about how the Democrats didn't have their hands in what the "execs" were doing.

In my opinion, You Tube is for fun,not information. Try using your own head to form opinions.
