If party affiliation was done away with, most of the country's key issues would have been resolved years ago.  Why do the American people tolerate the immaturity of these Democratic and Republican "club" members that make life difficult because of their selfish partisanship?

Proud to be a Kraut (I am German in case you are not familiar with the word "Kraut").

Live life to the fullest because you never know when it may be your last day and never, ever let anyone talk you out of an adventure you want to undertake. In most cases they are just jeleous or envious.

Not to offend anyone bgut Americans in general are rather naive and not too well informed whe it comes to national or international matters. Otherwise they would long have fired those elected imbasols that argue because of party lines, are unwilling to make compromises and waste our resources ad time. I agree, if there was only one party that was totally responsible to the people, people would hold them totally responsible for their actions, be transparent and perhaps things would get done.  As long as peopel take so little interest in social and government matters, were more or better educated perhaps things could be changing. When will we wake up to reality, take action and demand that our elected officials do whats good for us and not be so intend and all consumed on getting reelected rather than doing their job for which they were elected. Think about this for a moment and you get the answer tio your question.

For the same reason most folks don't know what petition for redress means. They simply don't know they have the power to enlarge the number of parties, or to allow for 'open' primaries where the best individuals can be selected regardless of their party of record. Most resist out of fear of becoming a single party 'communist' society. (IE: a group of individuals with no apparent communl purpose all get elected and rule that the USA is now theirs to have forever, and void the constitution). Lack of knowledge leads to fear. Also, seeing how poorly patched together 4, 5, 10 party systems work or don't work, such as Israel, Brazil, and others that disband their Parliaments at thje drop of a hat, or other impasse. Some think Bicameral also means Bi-party. We have 4 MAJOR parties, two are very poorly represented, and the other two are represented poorly. (Few in numbers) and the two lesser known parties have never had anyone in the White House.

Ignorance and fear are powerful motivators; in combination they give rise to fanaticism and bigotry. Millions of fools can believe the same ignorant point of view, but it is still an ignorant point of view.

Simply put, racism, bigotry, apathy, power, idealogy, and good old American Capitalism, whereby the wealthy never want to concede anything. Aspirational wealth is the dream of most, but never achieved. It is amazing how the most in need of change still resist the facts of why they are in the shape they are in. Yet they back the most partisan viewpoints of their Congressmen who clearly do not have a plan that will help their plight.  Civility in our country is dead and poisoning all aspects of our life.
