Hi Mr Smith
I just got back from Temptations last week, we went down to play hell with them and they have come up with a much better package. We sat down with them and signed onto the new package. It did cost and extra bit of money but you get that back in 5 years, and could even earn a little extra.
1st - change is they have removed the yearly fee (mine was $468 which you got back on the All inclusive if you spent time there through the year)
2nd - They gave me 6 free All incusives (lifetime), each all inclusive is for 2 people, effectively giving us 12 individual. These can be used during any season at any of their resorts (except Desires). So you can go in Feb/March when the weekly all inclusives cost around $850, don't waste them in the low season.
3rd - I had 6 free weeks, per year, with my previous package, they've doubled that to 12, they have also given me a list of brokers who they say will try to sell those weeks that I dont want, at up to $500 per week. Previously you could only do this with the resort. I'm a little suspicious that this will be as easy as that. And if the broker does sell some of the weeks off and a person with that week goes to the resort and buys a timeshare package then you will get an extra all inclusive package (for 2 people) tacked on to your existing amount. (This also seems to good to be true)
4th - They also gave me over 150,000 point yearly that will be automatically put into my RCI account. You can use the 60,000 towards flights or car rentals, and the rest for other resorts.
Bottom line is you need to go down there and sit down with them, they really understand everyone is upset but I believe have come up with a package that is pretty fair. From Janurary they will also run a weekly evening cruise for members only, with there luxury boat, and have just installed a members only part of the beach with waiter service. We were treated like royality last week and had a great time.
Good luck
Malcolm Cooke
