We have recently come into possession of an Old Pocket Watch with the engraving "bylindre 10 rubis", a mark with a crescent moon, a crown with a cross on top and what appears to be some sort of animal engraved. There is also an engraving of "0,800" stamped into it with a series of numbers stamped at the bottom of 88894. There is also an engraving of IR C. It has beautiful engraving on the back that appears to be either leaves or flowers. The watch opens in the back to allow you to see the "inner" workings as well. The face opens to allow movement of the hands to "set" the watch. It also has the "seconds" dial on the bottom and the numbers are Roman numeral. I would like to find out if anyone might know where I can go for help? This was my husband's grandfather's watch - it does not have a chain or key and winds from the stem. Amazingly enough it still works. My husband will be 51 years old, his father was 84 when he passed away - I am thinking this watch to be over 100 years old but, I would like to be able to tell where it came from and possibly the year it was made. We know that my husband's grandfather came from Poland but, do not know if he acquired the watch in Poland or the U.S. Any answers or help would be appreciated.
