I am looking into buying myself a Pocket PC. I was wondering if it can come as a replacement for a laptop? Can I fulfill most of the common's user needs (Word, E-mail checking etc.) through a pocket PC or should I purchase a laptop instead?
A pocket pc doesn't have the capabilities of a desktop (or laptop) computer. You can use it to check mail, surf the internet, write word and exel documents, even see (not edit) powerpoint presentations (in Windows mobile 2005) and much more.
still, you can't do everything you do on a laptop on it. Now it's up to you to decide, do you need a small pocket pc that will show you your callendar and do some things you can do on a pc, but a bit less comfortable. Or you need a normal pc (laptop) to really work on.
If you don't have any computer right now i would tell you to buy a laptop. If you don't need to work on a computer, or you have something to do this kind of things on, you can get a pocket pc.

The first answer is ver well stated. I would add that I love my pocket pc 8525 but also have a laptop that I do all the real work on. When the technology gets to the point (and it is almost there) that you can have a true pocket pc that does all of the functions that a laptop does, plus make audio voice calls, then I would say that would be the time to wsitch over.
Merry Christmas
A pocket pc is too small for a computer to work on. its hard to see because the screen is very small. What you really need is a laptop (which is close to a desktop) that way you can do anything you want. You can check reviews of laptops at computerpclaptop
