change the fill valve, home improvement stores sell a great replacement. it is a fluidmaster 400-a. make sure you get a anti-siphon fill valve, install it at the correct hieght. also, while your in there, change the flapper. altogether, you have eleven dollars in parts and your toilet will be good for another five years.if you have difficulty, hire someone. should take a experienced plumber or handy man less than fifteen minutes to change out both. minimal mess, maybee a gallon of water on the floor.more time required if it is a old house with galvanized pipe directly connected to the old fill valve (lots more money too!). but if you have a flexible supply tube, should be no problem.
