do you mean in a boiler system? in a potable water system air is purged through a faucet or fixture. if you are talking about recharging or replenishing an air chamber, (to prevent water hammer) then you would have to drain the sysem the refill it. if you are referring to a boiler , you would open a drain valve on the affected zone while the recirc. pump is running until the air is discharged. you can usually hear the air moving throught the system.Cool

It is not a boiler system. Just a plain home with city water going through it.

Hi Dan, mostly air is purged through use of all of your faucets and or fixtures including dishwashers ect.. is your system making some sort of noise? more information would help me help you. I am a master plumber with 25 yrs. experience in home repair. i need to know if it is a water hammer, a vibration of some sort, a boom, a rattle do you have copper? galvanized? jim
