Yet another question. I want to make a pin cushion hooked together with a small garbage sack to put threads and things in. The one I seen was filled with something heavy enough (maybe sand) to sit on sewing maching table. The cushion was about3 x 5 and the sack was big enough to put your fist in. The sack hangs over the edge of the sewing machine table. The one I seen was sold at Joann's Fabrics. Hope this is clear enough. Thanks ahead of time for the help. poohvm
I do have this pattern in my sewing. I will look for it and get and let you know asap.

i am still looking for my pattern but am not finding it yet--this is similiar to what you are talking about and to the pattern that I have. Mine is not so big especially the pin cushion. I also have a magnet strip on mine which is handy. I will keep looking though and get with you directly when i find it. thanks shelly
Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.
Two places for you. 1) IF you want the pattern to make one, go to www.nancy'snotions.com . It is called a Scrap Sack Pattern and is $7.49. If you want one already made go to www.Etsy.com . They have a variety of them and they are caled Scrap Caddy's. Hope this helps. I have one I made and I love it, but I borrowed the pattern and don't know from whom.
You could either use dried rice, or a small dried bean(as used in soups).
Thanks for letting me input on this,
Jackie
I am still looking. I do know that the pin cushion was a piece of steel wool covered to keep needles and pins sharp.
