Photoshop 7.0 or Photoshop 8.0?

I am currently using Photoshop Version 7.0. A friend of mine who does computer graphics has recommended that I should stay with the 7.0 and not upgrade to 8.0, he simply said that the 7.0 version is better. Why? Is it really as he says?

Version 8 (known as CS) was a bigger and heavier version than 7, but not much better, so upgrading it was not worth the price.

but version 8 has been replaced by 9 (also known as CS2) which is much better.
if you want to upgrade - do it to CS2

if you are not in to hardcore designing then photoshop 7 is better for you as your friend said considering its low cost. Feature wise cs2 or ps9 is superior to ps7 but 7 has almost all very imp features of ps9. I believe the only difference between both versions is that ps9 is more polished then ps7.

appreciate what you have and do your best for a better world http://www.miniature-earth.com

Photoshop CS (8) is much more fun with some great advantages of caring for photos. My favorite adjustments tool is Shadow and Highlight which takes care of dark images and lighten them perfectly. Besides, why not jump to the latest version, CS II (9)?

Hi Katie,

one good reason to switch from Photoshop 7 to Photoshop 9 (which is CS2), even if you are an average user and not a power user :

Photoshop 9 (CS2) has an excellent Red Eye Reduction tool, that I use very easily to remove red eyes from digital photos.

of course 8MP is better than 7

for example i have CAnon SX100 and it has 8mp and its photo quality is better than 7.0MP
