A:I have traveled with my 10 pound Maltese in a pet carrier, airline registered and bought at Pet Smart. Any animal much larger has to be put in the cargo area. It's very expensive ($75/way) and inconvenient with a lay over. The airlines also restrict how many animals per flight. I finally found a person I can trust to keep him through a friend that has a dog too and we are both happy.
