My dog was a "throw away". I thank God everyday. He came to our front step just when my husband was starting to severe health problems. He has been such a wonderful blessing. I have this one favorite line that I tell him most everyday, "I don't know what I've ever done to have God love me so much that out of all the people in the world He sent you to me." My husband has been gone almost 4 yrs. and was ill 6yrs. and what a great companion Lightning has been.

I am a disabled single lady of 62. My pets are and have always been my life.  As much has people hate to hear this, they are like my children. When I can no longer have a dog, it will be time to go.

Our dogs, Anna Banana, Nickle Pickle, and Kiki are very important to us.  They are all adopted and bring us much joy and laughter.  They are our four legged kids and we care for them as if they were our children.

Our dogs, a rescued mix and a mini-dachshund are very important to our family.  Each personifies unconditional love.  It is amazing the tricks and antics they display after kind words or the ever-welcome petting or scratching between their ears.  Often I find myself talking to "the girls" as if they understand what I am saying and I wait for their response.  Crazy maybe, but sometimes they do answer.  (no, I'm not serious) If I am blue, it only takes them a few minutes to make me smile or laugh.  My dad says that if he believed in reincarnation he wanted to return as one of my dogs because of the great life they have.

I've owned dogs all throughout my life and each one holds a very special place in my heart. My current "baby" is an almost 3 yr old Golden Retriever named Ripley. She's the smartest dog on earth (all dog owners believe that, don't we). I could not imagine not having this fur shedding, ice cube loving, brown eyed furball in my life...
