Person needing help

my son graduated high school without ever missing a day of school since kindergarten.  he never made  a B and was ranked second in his graduating class as well as being named an AP scholar.  He could certainly use any grant money available as he would love to live on campus but cannot afford to at Transylvainia University in Lexington, Ky.  He has taken out a loan and is in work study but he still cannot afford to live on campus. If anyone knows of a grant he might apply for please let me know

Obtain Grant Money for College
Obtain Grant Money for College

If you want to attend college, but you’re unable to afford the high price of tuition, there are several programs in place to help you. Grants are a valuable resource for individuals who are unable to afford college but have the drive and determination to attend. Here is some information on how to obtain grant money for college.
1
Search for a matching gant. There are many different types of grants available – from grants for opening a business to paying down personal debt. You will need to find a grant that matches your need to go to college. Chances are you will find many different ones available, but each one has different criteria you need to meet and different requirements. One place that allows you to search for specific grants is www.grants.gov – you’re able to place a keyword in the search bar and you receive a list of grants in your results.

  • Step 2
Investigate the grant. nce you have found a grant that meets your specific needs, research a little about the grant. What needs to be done in order to apply for the grant? What information needs to be included? When is the application deadline? Make sure you get all the appropriate information so you know what you’re dealing with.

  • Step 3
Fill out the application. When you have the information you need, you will then have to fill out the grant application. This typically consists of a written ‘statement’ which clarifies why you need the grant as well as the amount needed, what it’s for, whether or not you’ve received a grant in the past, proof of income, etc. Different grants may require different information. Make sure all the information is included in your grant. Some individuals hire professional writers to help them write the grant proposal – this may increase your chances of being selected.

  • Step 4
Send out the application. Now that you’ve filled out the application, you will need to send it to the proper recipient. This information should have been available in the same place you found the grant or in the grant’s description. Once you’ve sent the application out, you simply wait to receive word as to whether or not you’ve been selected.

  • Step 5
Fill out more grants. You’re not limited to filling out only one application. In fact, you can fill out as many grants as you wish and this increases your chances of getting selected. Just be sure to check the requirements and required information on each individual grant so you can send the recipient exactly what they need to make their decision.

  • Step 6
By doing these steps, you can obtain a grant to go to college, receive a proper education and live a better life! Good luck.
