Person-to-Person Wagers

Is it legal in the US for two individuals to make a wager/bet on a sporting event (ie College Football Game, Red Sox / Yankee Game, etc).  What law governs such activities.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal, but it's just impossible to enforce it. I'm not a lawyer or something, though.

There is no law that I know of against person-to-person bets in the US, mango. take a look here, for example. There is a law against using telecommunication devices to do that, but doing it face-to-face is legal.

I don't know if it is ilegal, all i know is that betting is only ilegal if you are wagering over the telephone.
