the width of a recctangle is fixed at 12cm. What lengths will make the perimeter greater than 92cm?

P = 2w + 2l

w = 12 and P = 92

92 = 2l + 24

2l = 68

l = 34

Therefore, any length greater than 34 cm will produce a perimeter greater than 96 cm.

2L + 24 > 92
2L > 68
L > 34  c"m   (any length bigger than 34 c"m will result in a perimeter bigger than 92 c"m).
