Is it God's Work to condemn Homosexuals?

What I am trying to understand is how come Christians think God's work is condemning others for being gay?  It seems God is the only qualified individual to judge that and who is sinless enough to be concerned about other's sins and not their own?

If the purpose is to muster fear in that individual, the only feeling I have seen people get from this approach is a misrepresentation of the church as an inhospitible and unwelcoming institution.

My mother was raised Catholic and believed in Christ without question until she was told after her husband who had committed suicide, that he was condemned to hell for the act.  She could not and would not accept that and it had taken alot of stuggling for her with her beliefs that she became an atheist. People are impressionable and so many others often tend to act as authorities in areas that they are not.

It only seems to deter people who are not that certain in what it is that they believe in, from ever giving the teachings of Christ a chance.

It know people don't always think too much before they speak, I am just as guilty of that as the rest of us, I think that we should try though. Because sometimes, something that we represent will wind up taking the fall for something we say or do.   I don't want to think that their real intention is to drive someone further away from Christ.

I Don't think it is our place to judge anyone and I also think that we should pay attention to our own housework before criticizing anothers.  That God is forgiving and just, I think that we should trust his will and believe that whatever another man or woman does in their own privacy is between them and God and know that they will work it out because God has a plan and a reason for everything.

Because homosexuality is wrong.  I think that god appreciates the fact that I denounce homosexuality.  I am not judging but I know the difference between right and wrong.  I would not turn anyone away because of their sexual preference that would be wrong.  I love god with all my heart.  I don't want to change anyone.  I just pray they will see the light.

Love is the battery of life....

Dear Elaine,
You are a very brave woman to say exactly what you think and feel.  I think you are absolutely right and really enjoyed reading your notes.  It made me think and discuss it with my wife.  I would like to add one point: It doesn't fit to their world...... (Just as is a carnibore [not sure about the spelling but I mean one that loves meat] is no accepted in a group of vegiterians).    Thank you Elaine, enjoy your weekend.
Best regards,

The Gay Dear Abby

Let's start at the beginning.  The Catholic Church did at one time believe that suicide was so wrong that it meant that people were forever damned for it.  That belief has changed since people in the church have become more educated.  A person who commits suicide is emotionally unable to make a real decision.  God does not condemn these people.  The ignorance of the past caused untold misery among the families of those who did commit suicide, and now the mercy of God is stressed above all else.

Pretty much the same applies to gay people.  The Church is behind in its thinking and will eventually see that people should not be judged for being the people God made them to be.  Why our churches are so concerned about sexual issues is absurd.  God told us to love each other.  Support anyone you know who is gay.  Accept that person, and you will usually have a good friend for life!

I agree with you 100%. Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, and science is proving that most homosexuals are born that way; the ones who weren't were probably molested by "straight" people. Jesus said "Judge not lest ye be judged". Everyone who judges others will be judged harshly in return.

Homosexuality and suicide will condemn you to hell.  How can you people be so blind?  I will pray for your souls.  Please see the light.

I can do all things through Christ

Right On, Frouthy. I am a gay Christian and have been since 8 or 9 years old. I prayed and ask God if I was alright with Him(because as long as I can remember I knew I was Gay and I was not about Sex in my heart of hearts I knew I like girls but I am a girl)  and if not change me because I wanted to be no where esle but with God. I also prayed that if I was ok then help me to embrass all the different people like me. My life has been embrassing, and caring in the name of God.

There is no such thing as a gay christian.  Please don't let these so-called gay christians warp your views on religion and drag you to a firey eternity with them.  Anyone who belives homosexuality is ok has a lot to learn.  I don't mean to belittle anyone.  I just want everyone to see the truth.  I praise god for showing me the truth and the light.

The Gay Dear Abby

Valerie,

Why don't you stop for a moment and agree to let God be the judge?  God never meant for you to made these statements about things you don't understand.  So many of the people who condemn gay people are showing no love and no compassion.  If you want to quote the Bible, it would be very easy to show you the many, many ways you are not following it.  To base you hatred on some selected verses, taken out of context, would be shameful.  Let God be God!
