What I am trying to understand is how come Christians think God's work is condemning others for being gay? It seems God is the only qualified individual to judge that and who is sinless enough to be concerned about other's sins and not their own?
If the purpose is to muster fear in that individual, the only feeling I have seen people get from this approach is a misrepresentation of the church as an inhospitible and unwelcoming institution.
My mother was raised Catholic and believed in Christ without question until she was told after her husband who had committed suicide, that he was condemned to hell for the act. She could not and would not accept that and it had taken alot of stuggling for her with her beliefs that she became an atheist. People are impressionable and so many others often tend to act as authorities in areas that they are not.
It only seems to deter people who are not that certain in what it is that they believe in, from ever giving the teachings of Christ a chance.
It know people don't always think too much before they speak, I am just as guilty of that as the rest of us, I think that we should try though. Because sometimes, something that we represent will wind up taking the fall for something we say or do. I don't want to think that their real intention is to drive someone further away from Christ.
I Don't think it is our place to judge anyone and I also think that we should pay attention to our own housework before criticizing anothers. That God is forgiving and just, I think that we should trust his will and believe that whatever another man or woman does in their own privacy is between them and God and know that they will work it out because God has a plan and a reason for everything.
