Lennart,  Remember that when someone comes to the USA so long ago not all of your information such as birthday or spelling of names may be the same.  Anyway if you lookup (free through your local library) the federal census for 1920 you will find a Richard Anderson born in Sweden living in Polk, Iowa at Camp Dodge US Army Post.  There quite a few Richard Andersons, but this one would be 31 in 1920 which would be the right age.  You can also try the SSDI through Rootsweb which is also free.  It's the Social Security Death Index.  Hope this will get you started.  Mary Lou

Treat others like you self would like to be treated.

Hello Mary Lou. I really apreciate that you took your time  to answer my question.

I have struggled with my ancestor over two years without any sucess.

This info you gave me can help me alot.

Actually I recieved help from another user named Yada Yada. He/she wrote this to me about "my" Richard.

>>>
After I posted to you, I realized (duh) you are in Sweden. I found a lot of possibles. Particularly a man (Richard P. Anderson, born the correct yr, from Sweden, correct parish)who was a reservist during the second World War and was called up, it seems that He would have been to old to be called up. I need to find out. I know they called up some pretty old guys. Anyway, this man is MIA. There are many other possibles. do you have any other information on his relatives, so that if I happen to connect to a tree someone here has put together I can verify that it is Him?<<<

unfortunatly her/his account is deleted

Can I ask you if you have any idea what this person mean?

Thank you once again
regards

Lennart I think he is saying that Richard was possibly too old to have served in WWII.  You could try viewing WWII draft cards and maybe check WWI draft cards possibly through the LDS site.  They have a lot of information.  Mary Lou

Check the Social Security Death Index.  S.S. benefits started in 1937.  Your guy would have been about 50 in 1939 and likely he would have gotten S. S. benefits if he lived long enough.
