10 Valuable Suggestions to Anyone Considering Network Marketing, How to be Successful and Keep your Friends. How to Select the Right Business..
I have some suggestions for you that may help. Firstly I have been in and out of MLM for about 7 - 8 years. In the beggining it all seemed very confusing, people up on stage with big income stories, the big houses, the great cars, the travel and the simplicity of the business model. The fact is that MLM is an industry that is about 1. Business ownership, 2. Personal Development, 3. The movement of quality products and/or sevices via word of mouth informational marketng (NOT SELLING). Mostly presented to pepole with out business skills but it is a real business.
Here are some of the mistakes that most people new to network marketing/MLM make and it it not a bad thing it is just like any new career or subject there is a learning pariod. How to be a success and keep your friend and how to select the right business.
1. Network marketing is pyramid selling, well pyramid selling is illegal and was a completely different business model, I am not going to go into detail because I could write a whole book on it just know that it is a completely differet model.
2. We are sales people this is a very common beginners error. Are products sold yes, is the movement of product or the initation of services a cause for income of course but are we as professional network marketers sales people no I don't think of it that way. We simply provide all the data, information and facts for people to do their own independent research on and then collect a decision from people do they see it as a business model to get them to their income and lifestyle goals or don't they. If yes brillant training begins. 2 If no, are they interested in using the products or services IF YES brilliant get them started IF No well thats brilliant too they are not right for your business now or maybe ever move on DO NOT HASSEL AND BADGER THEM TO JOIN OR USE THE PRODUCTS OR YOU WILL BECOME A MEMBER OF THE NO FRIENDS CLUB.
3. You need to get your friends and family involved to be successful this is totally wrong in fact some of the people I know with over 20,000 people in their organisation have only one or two family members or friend in their business. Some are 3 generations of family and friends in the business but you do not have to badger friends and family. If you are going to approach friends and family get straight to the point don't have a 1 hour conversation and then say and by the way I was calling about XYZ biz opp because they will feel minipulated because they were. Say have you got a minute this is a business call, You've found something very interesting, you value their opinion and would like to sit down with them for 20 miutes to go over what you've found or send them a company tool like a DVD and then call and see what they liked about it. here are the three responses you may get 1. I don't see anything of value here (This mean they did not catch the vision and the depth of the opportunity) No problem if its a friend say great thanks for your opinion and don't talk to them about it again for six to ten months, ask them out to a movie and forget about them move on THEY ARE NOT RIGHT FOR YOUR BUSINESS. 2. Same as one but think the products looked very interesting and would like to try them, great don't hassel them about the business just help them order the products they want. 3. WOW this looks great how do we, when can I, I want to know more, THIS IS THE KIND OF PEREON THAT YOU WANT TO WORK WITH, book them in for a opportunity meeting or introduce them to your sponsor and get them started they have the greatest chance of success but don't lead them to believe they are going to be millionaires in two weeks. It takes two - three and in some cases 5 years to build a diamond business. The bioggest cause of failure is sponsors leading people to believe they will be rich by Chritmas it just doesn't work like that. It takes time to learn how to do it but this type of peopson is right for your business with the right training and attitude they will make it. The reason a lot don't make it is they quit in 3 months and think the business will grow by its self YOU HAVE TO WORK at least for the first 3 years untill you have some solid leadership then you can go on holidays to Thailand or the ski field for six months and come back and have a bigger business than when you left Get it go it good....
4. Network marketing is a get rich quick scheme if someone tells you they want to be making ten thousand dollars a month in three months time and you ask them whats the most they have ever made in their career in one month and they say two thousand dollars or something and they have been working for ten or twenty years well then why in the world do they think they multiply that by 5 in three months when they have not made that in 10 years. Tell them unless they can have a more realistic approach to business you don't think they are right for your business. You will just waste time with lotery mentality people and they will drop out as fast as you can sponsor them.
5. Don't sponsor losers, rude people or arragant people, now there is a difference between skeptisim and closed mindedness, skeptisim is healthy and they may have been burned before so encourage it tell them to do their research they should and good business person will, but they definetley shouldn't be taking advice from their broke friends that may have had some brief exposure to the industry for 1 - 6 months at some time in their life and if they are rude, impolite, arrangant or carry on with pyramid shmaramid, scam bam thank you man, MOVE ON there are too many good people to do business with just say I'm sorry but your not the kind of person I'm looking for at the moment thanks for your time bye.
6. Can you lose your house or car, no I highly doubt it I huess its possible if you start marketing on the super ball in the states or some equivilent anywhere in the world but the fact is as far a the business world goes MLM is the lowest cost entry and the lowest time requirement of all the business models that exist to create true financial freedom and this is one of the resons many people don't take it seriously because the invest,ment in so low, can you lose money yes, will you definetley succeed no, can you make millions of dollars a year yes, do you need to be a wiz kid with a degree to do it no, do you need to be a sales person to be a super success exactly the opposite, Teachers, Doctors, Dish Washers, Customer service reps, single mothers the average Joe and Mary that stick with it learn how to do it the right way are the ones that make the millions that you hear about. Sales people convince people to join against their will and then they just drop out where is the financial freedom in that. If you are a sales person you can still be successful just understand that you need to learn and new set on skills to success and make the big income long term but its not always just about the money, its also who you become, the lifetime friendships you make and the fun and freedom you get to enjoy while you build a global orgnaisation that sets your free to do what ever it is that you love forever.
7. Talk to people that are successful first ususally these are the pepole that will treat your opportuntiy with the respect it deserves. People that are on social security will always find ten reasons why they don't have time to spend twenty minutes with you to get out of their desperate situation because they have to watch the 100th re-run if Signfield or go to the social security office to complain about the president or primeminister or something GET SUCCESSFUL first then come back and try to save these pepole becuae they will take up a lot of your time and ususally just waste it.
8. Get advice from people that are successful in the industry not people in different industries and not people with no success or broke friends they may have their heart in the right place but they really don't know what they are talking about.. If you have something wrong with your health you see a doctor not your uncle unless he's a doctor why would you not see qualified people for your business advice also..
9. When selecting a compnay to build your future with spend time to do you research don't just jump on the first thing that sounds good because you can make anything sound good but you must find out what substance is beneath the business. you don't want to spend a year building up a big income and then be so close to achieving your dreams of financial and lifestyle independence only to find out the owners have up and left with your hard work in their pockets. There will always be scammers out there always has been probably always will be unless there is a radical change in human behaviour and some spirtual event happen that changes the way we all treat each other. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GET STARTED that on the company, the products/or serice, the managment team and the leadership, your upline and the training program...
10. Network marketing or MLM is the only way I know of where any normal person with a normal balanced mind, attitude, income and a dream that they are willing to work just an extra 10 - 15 hours per week for can become wealthy, achieve finacial independence and live the lifestyle they dreamed of when the were younger with out risking huge amounts of capitol, taking out loans or doing something thats going to land them in jail.
I hope those ten points helped clarify some of the mystery and missconception surrounding a relativley simple industry and that anyone considering business ownership in the network marketing / MLM industry can go forward with confidence and make the right decision, do there own research and ultimatley make the best decicion for their future and if you do decide its for you be prepared to spend the first six months learning how its done right because the only way you are going to fail is by quiting or doing nothing at all and doing nothing in my opinion is ultimate failure just make sure that when you do decide to start you are confident that you have done your research, the compnay, products/services, compensation plan, management team, sponsorship line all make sense to you that everything is legal above board and everyone's heart in in the right place.
