Does an American Citizen need a passport to travel to the Bahamas and back? Also, what about Canada?

Years ago i wet on a cruise to the b. Islands ad no all i needed was a state of drivers license of the state and my address i lived for i.D. . Am not sure about canada . I think so because they are so stricked now. God luck and enjoy where you are going...

alerlat1, The Bahamas are a United States possession, so you would not need a passport to go there. You will need one to enter another country. If you are the traveling type, get a passport. This way you will have it just in case you need it.
