Parts needed to make Crocheted Baby in a Blanket

About 30 years ago I made Crocheted "Baby-in-a Blanket" dolls.  Would like to make them for Grandchildren now but can't locate a source for the soft rubber faces and hands that are attached to to the body and blanket.  I have tried the local craft outlets and have found nothing on-line.  Any suggestions?

Jean, I don't know where you can find the parts. The craft store where you live should be able to order them for you. I have a favor though....I had the same pattern and I have lost it! I too have grand kids for which I'd like to make one. Could you share your patter with me? Please?! I've been trying to find that pattern again with absolutely no luck. I'd sure appreciate it!

I would be happy to share the pattern with you, but my computer skills are lacking and it is hand written and sketched for me by an elderly lady.  I would be happy to make a copy and mail it to you if you send me your address.

Jean, I thank you for responding so swiftly to my request...but guess what...I ended up finding my pattern! I started cleaning out my roll-top desk and low and behold there it was tucked in with a few other patterns I'd thought I lost! But, again, thank you so much for willing to share your pattern with me. I hope that you can find the pieces you need to complete your pattern.

You might try Annie's Attic.com or a place called Michaels. There is also Ben Franklin's Hobbies and Crafts, or Hobby Lobby. Try googling those places. If you have a wall-mart around you, you might try the craft section there and see if they might be able to order the parts for you. I hope this helps you some.

Thanks again,

Gwen

Thanks for the suggestions on where to find the parts.  Unfortunately none of them carry what I need.  I have tried all in my area and when I travel, I make it a point to check whatever is in the area.  Wal-Mart is discontinuing their craft dept in most of their stores, and those with craft depts have less of a variety than in the past.  You will be surprised when you start looking, these parts just don't seem to be available.  Good luck with your dolls!

Gwen:  I have been searching for quite some time for the crocheted baby in a blanket pattern.  I have the finished product but unfortunately I do not have a pattern.  I have one granddaughter in a sea of boys who would love to have one, but I need a pattern to make it.  The one I have does not belong to me and I have to return it soon.  Would you be willing to share your pattern with me?

Gwen, if you e-mail me at jbyc@aol.com, and give me your address, I will be happy to send you a copy of the handwritten directions that I have.  There are sketches and diagrams that I cannot put in an e-mail.  In an earlier e-mail you had said that you found the pattern while cleaning out your desk, so I thought you were all st.  Let me know,

Jean
