I have been diagnosed as having Parkinson's disease. i'm unclear as to what this will bring to me, whether it shortens life, is it is any way curable, etc. Any of you good folk experienced this or have close friends/rleatives with PD?
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
I'm sorry to hear of your illness.
There is no way to predict what course Parkinson's will take; the progression and course of each case is unique to the individual. It is not directly or imminently fatal. It usually is a procession of symptoms that can be treated as they develop.
There is no cure presently, but a lot of research is being done.
Do a web search on PD. There is plentyof information there.
I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. This web page called Living with Parkinson's Disease was put together by the National Parkinson Foundation. I think you will find it helpful.
