Paris Hilton is out of jail.
Good for her and may she be a better citizen from now on. When I look at her I can't help thinking, is this really the kind of role model I want my future kids to be exposed to?

Does she have enough influence to become a role model?
Well, she's there, very prominently, with lots of media coverage. I think it almost impossible not to follow her story. How much of this is really influencing your kids is up to you and the way they are brought up.
I think rather than shielding them from things like jail or DUI or drug abuse, it is better and safer to walk them through such topics, and lift the air of romance and mystery that often accompanies such deeds.
