Children are God's gift to the world...

Parents partly to blame for NY teen being beaten by her classmates?

Are the parents to blame, at least partly, in what happened when 6 girls brutally attacked another female classmate for allegedly posting stuff about the other six on her MySpace page? How can these kids be punished so that this does not happen again to anyone?

Really, the parents shouldn't be held liable unless it happens on numerous occasions or their children reflect a pattern of this behavior.

If the courts wish to issue a sentence, I'd say a pretty stiff sentence would be 48 months probation along with a "restricted use" of computers (only for educational reference).

I think that the problem is 'kids' have too much access too early. These kinds of things are not new it is just that now they are being shown in a different way. I don't think the parents are to blame. Yes they play a part in their upbringing and I do think the girls should be punished, but anyone who is a parent knows that kids do what they want most of the time and they need to learn, even though it may be the hard way.

{Insert Catchy Phrase HERE}

Parents can't possibly be held responsible for what their children are doing unless they lock their kids in the basement for life...kids are kids, and bound not to listen.

There is no sure way to make an example of these girls, people break laws that carry the death penalty all the time, showing that even death isnt a strong enough punishment to rein in the stupidity of some people.
