Paper shredder not working!

I recently got a new paper shredder for a gift it is a NOVI TECH paper shredder model number PS-307B. For about a month it was working perfectly I plugged it in and left it on the on/Auto position all the time. Now for some reason the shredder does not turn on. I have turned it on, and off from the power switch in the back of the unit to the forward/reverse buttons on top. I have changed power outlets and still no sign of life in the shredder. What do I do? and if I have to replace it, should I just leave the new one plugged in and turn it on when I need to use it? please help!

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Leaving it in the Auto position shouldn't have damaged it, unless it has an electrical defect.

What usually causes a paper shredder to stop working is shredding too many things at once, stressing out the motor. OR shredding too many things, one after another after another, overheating the motor.

Another hint to keep a shredder healthy is to lubricate it occasionally. They make products especially for this, but they are kind of pricey. I just spray WD-40 on a sheet of paper and run it through the shredder once a month.
