Panic heart attack symptoms?

Could anyone please tell me some panic heart attack symptoms?

I have problems with chest pain and breathing that sometimes lasts for hours but I've observed that these are brought upon by events and situations -very crowded areas, office buildings, hospitals etc.

Please, this is serious, I would appreciate if you had some knowledge on the subject or knew of any websites that could share information about panic heart attack symptoms.

Some panic heart attack symptoms are:

Palpitations with pounding and increased heart rate,

tightness of chest and throat area,

irrational fear,

shortness of breath,

excessive sweating,

chills or hot flushes,

nausea and/or stomach cramps,

dizziness,

It's important to note that a panic attack is Not a heart attack - although this is not to say that the sensations and symptoms experienced aren't very very real and frightening.

Panic heart attack symptoms are often linked to psychological reasons such as a build up of stress due to every day events and pronounced stressful events - losing one's job, a divorce, changing cities, losing a loved one etc.

Many people are not aware that these panic heart attack symptoms can be controlled and that they can live a better life.

I had a family member that suffered panic attacks for years until eventually she discovered a very helpful site - panic attack symptoms .
Her quality of life has improved dramatically.
She used their all natural method to help cure her panic attacks.

I hope that helps with your Q about panic heart attack symptoms and I wish you all the best for the future.

Gail, while you may very well be having panic attacks, or social anxiety (episodes happening in public places).I would not recommend, that you just assume your having panic attacks. You really need to be checked by a qualified health care provider to rule out other conditions. While panic attacks can certainly mimic heart problems, symptoms of heart problems can present in stressful situations as well, such as being in public places, ect...If your heart is involved, then you may not feel any symptoms until the heart is stressed, and you could be getting stressed in public places enough-that it is causing your "POSSIBLE" heart problem to cause enough anxiety, that is then throws you into a panic attack as well.

Symptoms of a heart problem are (this may not be a complete list, everyone is different, and may only have one or a few of thee symptoms)

#1.Pain in the chest, neck, arm, side of face, abdomen, back in between shoulder blades, in women pain is often in the small of the back.

#2.Shortness of breath.

#3.Sweaty, and or calmy feeling.

#4.Nausea and or vomiting.

#5.Dizziness.

#6.Pounding sensation in the chest area.

#7. Crushing, or tightness sensation in the chest area.

#8.Tachycardia (rapid heart beat)

#9.Bradycardia (slow heart beat)

While you can also have these symptoms with panic attacks, you never need to assume that your just having a panic attack!!!Please get a work up by a physician, or go to the hospital when you have one of these episodes. Appropiate testing needs to be done, and if it is diagnosed as panic attacks/social anxiety you would probably benefit from medication, if symptoms are this bothersome.Goodluck!!

Gail,

Most of what you are describing sounds like a panic attack rather than the symptoms of a heart attack, but you should consult with a physician to discuss the issues you mentioned and rule out any underlying health conditions. This will help to allay your fears and have professional support if necessary.

As a woman that suffered from (and thankfully, resolved) panic attacks practically the instant I started perimenopause some 13 years ago at the age of 40, I completely understand your fears and worries.  Since I don't know how old you are, it is important for you to note that panic and anxiety attacks frequently occur in women as they begin perimenopause, which can be a lengthy time before menopause formally arrives. As such, the more your hormones fluctuate there is a greater likelihood that you will have a panic attack. (This is because your reproductive hormones have a huge influence on your brain chemistry.)  I personally had no idea that this could happen; thought I lost my mind due to too much stress at one time in my life; was terrified I would never be normal again (or relative to what I knew to be normal for me) and truly was a lost soul for a while, but I did resolve them many years ago and now, at 53 - in surgical menopause - no longer have them or anxiety attacks anymore.

Please make an appointment to see your doctor so that you can have a physical as soon as possible. If there are no underlying issues, your MD may prescribe an anti-depressant like Paxil (my least favorite of the drugs as it does cause SERIOUS weight gain) and it will help.

But, most importantly - and this is a lesson I taught myself and continue to practice even now - try not to give in to your fear and let it control you. This is easier said than done and it does take practice, but you are in the driver's seat and you CAN control it. If you avoid the spaces that bother you, you will make the panic attacks worse and you will never face the areas that bothered you again. My attacks occurred while I drove on NYC roads but I kept driving, even though I was freaked out a lot. When I got scared, I pulled over to the side; combed my hair, put lipstick on, caught my breath, counted to ten and then, once I felt better, I started driving again.  If your fear overtakes you in the spaces where you tend to get the attacks, stop, sit down, breathe, count (as in "one thousand one, one thousand two, etc.) and it will pass. Listen to relaxation tapes, soft music, etc. as they do help, also.

Trust and believe in yourself that this will pass because it will.

Panic attacks are very common among people and widely spread throughout the world.  First I would suggest you go to a doctor to confirm that what you are experiencing is indeed panic attacks rather than heart problems.  However, if you get panicky around office buildings, etc. I would suggest you are suffereing from one of the panic disorders.  I really don't know of any online websites that could be of the help you need.  Try the forums so that you can talk to other people who have panic attacks so you don't feel so alone in your pain and fear.  I would also suggest you seek out a therapist to try and get down to the nitty gritty on this.  At times a medication can be used but first try talk therapy.  Good Luck to you.  I know the feelings of panic well.

What's the best way to deal with panic heart attack symptoms?

I get them a lot and worry that the symptoms are really a heart attack. This makes me panic more. I worry about getting stomach aches, which then causes them and thus create a cycle of panic. Any tips?

Try to find something interesting to occupy your mind. Call a friend, talk to the person who might be with you, carry on a one-sided conversation with the dog if necessary.

I slowly got over my panic attacks by calling my friends when I felt them coming on. Usually, there was always something interesting to talk about and it kept my mind busy. Panic attacks can be very hard to deal with, good luck!
