Painting ceiling/walls with rounded corners

My living room ceiling does not have a straight edges/lines where it meets my walls. The ceiling has custom curved/rounded edges. To make things worse my cieling and walls are textured "orange peel". This would be ok if I could paint both the celing and walls one color. However, my wife MUST have two colors. How can I get a straight line in paint with these edges and texture?

How do others handle this situation?

I'll search, while you Cool wait.

Hi, I know you've been waiting a while for this answer.  I found something from bob vila's site but I don't know if it's exactly what you want to do, but I understand their concept.  I understand that the ceiling is painted a differenct color than the wall, and this solution helps to create a line look, if that makes sense.  Check it out and see it it works for you.

To me the curved part belongs to the ceiling and the walls but to look nice the curve must be painted as ceiling ,to find out where the curve starts: take a strait edge wood or somenthing strait, place it on one end of the wall start sliding it from bottom to top slowlly when you start to see a gap between wall and strait edge stop, slide it down until you dont see big gap 1/8 of an inch is OK,mark on top the strait edge then do the same to another end of the wall or where the walls meet, since you have two marks connect them using a clalk line to have a strait line then you can use masking tape stiking it just below the line, now it is ready to paint (ceiling first) I hope you anderstand my poor English.

We had the same problem with painting the rounded corners in our house.  We purchased a great painting tool on the net called the BlendMate.  It blends the two colors together at the corner.  It was simple to use and the corners look amazing!  Check it out at www.blendmate.com
