Dear Dr., Thank you for your response. We did end up taking my Mom to a Board Certified MD. Upon review of my Mom's bone scans, MRI, pet scan etc. she immedidately prescribed the appropriate and customary pain meds for a pt with Stage V metastatic bone CA, which you are probably aware of, is a very painful form of CA. The doctor told us that my Mom's Oncologist is known in the community for ignoring patients complaints pain, infections etc. She thought it was outragous that he wouldn't give her anything stronger than Ibuprofen 600mg. When my Mom developed cellulitis in her arm last year, he didn't anything about it for months or refer her to any one, until we finally insisted upon it. My Mom doesn't have much time left on this earth and her MD isn't worried that she may get addicted to the pain meds. She told us that her meds will have to be gradually increased and the CA progresses. No one wants to die in pain. Thanks again!
