New jersey dept of labor. I am an employee paid hourly. My employer told me if i take a day off brfore or after the holiday i do not get paid for the holidat. There are only 4 people in the office. Is this true?

SADLY, most fishermen are afraid to touch the worm.
I'm not sure if this is a state or a Fed regulation. In AZ it is true, it also applies if you're sick on the day before/after.
