Page speed load time and SEO

Does my websites load time affect my rankings in Google?

Found this site that says page speed is important for seo and that it will start to matter,  but how much does it really matter? I have a site that has a lot of external javascripts and heavy ad usage that can slow my site down during the day when a lot of people are surfing.

Yes it affects your ranking

because googlebot, when it visits your website, it visits it for X period of time

and if it didnt manage to see the entire site within that time, parts of it are not scanned, and information that maybe on those parts wont appear in google

Users are also annoyed when it takes a site ages to load
