Is PETA evil?

I just watched this episode of Penn and Tell's Bullshit saying Peta was evil:

Are they really as bad as the show suggests?

Evil (like ethical as Pen&Teller say) is a debatable concept; you may claim many things about PETA: their ideas are unpractical, exaggerated, or even plain childish. But claiming they are evil would be too much, and probably be the child of a religious-over conservative way of thought. On the other hand (and I am a meat lover and eater – just look at some of my questions here in yedda) Pen&Teller show seems a bit biased, I won’t be surprised if some big meat producing company is involved in this show.

And just so you should know the first person who used this holocaust – animal comparison was a Jewish refugee and a noble prize winner Isaac Bashevis Singer. It does not make it right! But it does not mean that the comparison is necessarily evil!

For me, the answer is very complicated.  Basically I think that PETA has done so much good for animals.  On the other hand, they use radical words and actions.  I think they do need to create publicity so that people hear their important message.  But sometimes I wonder whether people remember PETA's tactics more than their message.

yes they are... look up the words 'evil peta' on the internet and do some research... they kill over 70 percent of the animals people entrust to them.  they promise to find homes for them, but most of the time, they're killed in the van before they even leave the person's driveway after picking up the dog/cat/whatever.  they average about 2 dogs killed per day.... yeah, i'd say they are hypocritical and evil.

PETA ran an ad on OSU campus that was a billboard...it said the following:

"One glass of milk is more harmful than a glass of beer."

We have drunken riots here every time there is a football game, and there is a very high ratio of date rape and similar crimes here...all alcohol related. That billboard is one more subliminal message the perpetrators will get later after seeing the billboard...

"Go ahead...that beer is safer than a glass of milk."

Yeah...PETA does as much harm as it does good...and I have the proof.

I won't say that PETA are evil, they are just run by a bunch of overzealous and uneducated or brainwashed people. The members and their actions and their lack of intelligence give the organization  an unfair bad name. The concept is okay, but they go about it all in the wrong manner. If you want to help animals.,...do it where it is really needed. Join the crew of the Sea Shepherd and stop whaling ships. Go to Canada and shoot he seal clubbers...or go to meat farms and beat up the retarded workers that abuse the animals and make the only life the poor things get unbearably miserable. I eat meat...and as a result being educated and intelligent I have learned that the animal that gives its life to feed you deserves your utmost respect until it dies. It is not useless death if the animals get used for a purpose, but it is if they are killed for sport or trophy. Even fur is a purpose. , Also the award that Isaac Singer received was the "Nobel", as admittedly "noble" one as it may be;)

Also, I wonder why this was taken down? Was it the artists? I doubt it. They had it on youtube and didn't take it down right? How can we comment if we cannot even watch it? Lame.
