No, I have not. But it does not make a lot of sense on the surface. And this is the reason. During isometrics, you will breathe deeply anyway. Isometrics are basically anaerobic. Therefore, breathing will not increase stamina. When you put the weights down for a brief time, your body has an opportunity to switch back into an aerobic state.
