He is hiding something from you. If all was on the up and up, there would be no reason for him to hide it. If he belittles you about wanting to know what's in the files, that means he's trying to get your attention away from whatever it is he's hiding. Has your husband been married before? Has he ever cheated during a relationship? Do you know anything about his past relationships? All of these questions should have been answered BEFORE you married him. That's what marriage counseling is all about. There's that old saying: if you feel like you've been punched, you've been punched. Men hiding things will always deny; that's the name of their game. I'd tell him if he's interested in keeping the marriage and keeping it good, then he'd best come clean with whatever is going on because sooner or later you will find out.
