A:

We could always sexually educate the youth better. I feel that the "baby boomers", as they became parents, were in conflict. Their youth was drug and sex-filled, apparently, which was quite atypical from the preceding generations. Deep down, this boomer generation knew that it was not quite right, and not what they wanted their kids to do. Hence, society then gave fairly weak, mixed messages over such sex and recreational drug issues to adolescents. Added to that is the fortunate ease by which teenage girls and boys can access contraceptives, and the current strong education on STD transmission and prevention. The current government campaign to sexually abstain til marriage does not seem to be working.
