How can US Banks in the St. Louis Area get away with charging XXXXfees for overdrafts (37.50) + additional fees when they authorized checks to be paid
on an account that has a negative balance.
How can they tell you theirs a positive balance on your account with nothing
pending, and you end up with a $200.+ negative balance.
How can the bank manager tell you, you can not close you account when there are request for check payments you never wrote (they have check numbers like 0 or 10001) the paperwork says you pre-authorized the checks.
Some checks have been paid twice with service fees from (?) of $25.00 apiece which are not bank fee request. As long as your account is negative
and they know you get direct deposits monthly of $1400.00+, they just pay
whatever comes through in order to attach negative fees onto your account
knowing you do not have the ability to continue to run in every other day to pay $200.00+ - $600.00+ to get you account out of the red. I one month's
time, my account was $1800.00 in the red although, I had borrowed money twice and got it out of the red. The bank manager was only willing to reverse
$200+ fees to help me out. He said, "If you close this account, I will not
reverse the charges for you. We are trying to keep customers, not letting
them leave.
