Be careful with the dates that you plan to travel as there is a lot of construction for the Olympics both on the highway to Whistler and in Whistler. Travelling by camper van also takes a lot longer and when I was in British Columbia last fall there were a great number of them on the road so even getting in and out of restaurant parking lots and the scenic lookouts on routes through the mountains was difficult due to their size. Maneuverability is another consideration. I suggest you check with AAA.
