Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

If you are looking for potential business contacts, I recommend a web site called Jigsaw. There are over 3 million companies listed, and it is free to join.

You can send out direct mail pieces (postcards, letters) to your local businesses. You can also phone your local businesses and talk to the owners or set up an appointment and just drop by.

I'm going on the assumption that you already know about Internet marketing and know how to get results...because you can help anyone else if you can't help yourself.

Now, if you're looking to peddle an affiliate program to small businesses then you really don't have to know anything about IM, because the product/service your selling to them explains it all.

There are few programs that come to mind, but I'm not sure exactly what you're looking to do.

If you are asking this question here, then maybe you don't have the experience needed to sell to offline businesses.  They are usually marketing and advertising savvy, so you need to be able to justify the cost of implementing the service in terms they can understand.

Most of these businesses don't track their advertising ROI and they don't know what the Internet can do for them.  Communicate this to them in terms they can understand and be ready to show them your portfolio.

You can get started in your city with local businesses.  If you're in the US, www.MerchantCircle.com is a good starting point.
