I enrolled in an online class, and seven days later ( including the weekend) I email to cancel the class. They are trying to force me to pay a $199.00 cancellation fee. Is this legal?
Hi you need to be more specific . When you enrolled the class what were the terms of the agreement? If you agreed to the terms then there might have been a term stating that the cancellation fee will be charged after X days. If It does say so there is nothing you can really do , maybe you can write them a personal letter explaining your situation.

Check the agreement you signed. If such fees are listed, then yes, it is "legal". You can of course, dispute this in civil court if you wish.
Most courses and programs do have a non-refundable deposit or cancellation fee.
According to the agreement I had five days to cancel without penalties.
I enrolled on Wed. Oct 17 and cancelled on Wed. Oct 24. That is five days excluding weekend when the school was close.
Does it say 5 work days or just 5 days?
It said five calendar days.
