Is there an online application that can help me plan my budget? Can I do this for free?
Has anyone tried it? Did it work?
Here is a simple family budgeting form.
If your budget is pretty simple then I would just to stick with pen and paper to start with.
But if there is a lot more going on you could also try personal accounting software like quicken or Microsoft money, they both have free trials.

There is something online called mint. I believe it can be found at mint.com.
If you want a paid option, I found a good review of YNAB budget planning software .
