Kelly, I like the idea of using molding to visually divide the rooms, but wouldn't it be more effective to use a wider, perhaps more decorative type of molding? I don't know why the "great room" has become so common in today's new houses, unless you have kids who like to skate or ride their little tricycle back and forth. Most of us really don't want such a large living room, and if we want separate dining or play rooms, I hope the builders will consider going back to designing the houses accordingly. Also, unless one is a movie star or some such, why do they think we want such huge bathrooms? REAL PEOPLE don't have the time to use (and clean) at-home spas. All part of the "McMansion" disasters that have helped create the big economic bust.
