There are sure to be many protests aginst the ...

There are sure to be many protests aginst the Beijing Olympics because of Tibet. Given that the Chinese can be ruthless in silencing protests, do you think that international protests will become strong enough to force cancellation of the Olympic games?

No.  I don't agree with what China is doing, but I don't think that the Olympic Games will be canceled.  People are looking forward to the games, people all over the world have poured money into this event, and the world also voted on having the games in China... so the decision can't be changed now.
