Will a non-functioning ERG valve cause a crank case to over pressure and blow seals? I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with the 2.8L diesel which is doing this. Been in shop for 4X I'm told something different each time.
I am not sure what a ERG valve is. I assume that you are referring to an EGR valve, (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve ? An EGR valve malfunction will not cause enough pressure to build up in the crankcase to blow seals, it will however cause engine performance problems over time. It appears that your leak problem has not been accurately diagnosed. You can call the Jeep Service help line for guidance. They will start a file on your problem and guide you through an accurate diagnosis.
