The Upper GI Endoscopy test report says: Pre-Medication : 10% Lodocaine Topical Spray Oesophagus : Grade III Oesophageal Varices- 2 collumns Grade II Oesophageal Varices- 2 collumns Oesophageal Candidiasis Stomach Fundus : Severe PHG, No fundic varix Body : Normal Antrum : Normal Duodenum D1 : Normal D2 : Normal Endoscopic Diagnosis: Oesophageal Varices with Severe PHG , Oesophageal Candidiasis ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Major issue---fatty degeneration of liver with Oesophageal Varices The patient has Cardio megaly and hypertension and is diabetic ----------------------------------------------------- Can anybody suggest proper medication/treatment? The esophageal varices are there because of your liver problems. When the liver is failing or having problems, it causes something called portal hypertension, which backs up blood and can cause the veins in your esophagus to englarge. These are the esophageal varices. They are similar to hemorrhoids. The best way to treat them is with ligation, which is a surgery that removes them using something similar to an elastic band.
