This PC crap has been going on for, at least, 2 decades. Obama is only 48, which means he grew up in this atmosphere. Along with PC was the concept of telling a lie and repeating it so often that people take it for the truth. This combined "mis-speak" pervades our moral souls. When you have your 8 year old coming home and lecturing you on what is right and wrong (at least as to what they learned from their progressive liberal teachers) there is something terribly amiss.
I was listening to ESPN Sports this AM. There was a story about a 17 yo high school girl that plays volley ball and her mom. They are pissed-off at the school for not allowing her to play. The catch is she's PREGNANT! The mother is defending the girl and mad because her precious can't play volley ball. Are they kidding? She's frickin' PREGNANT for God's sake! God forbid if someone elbows her in the stomach, or she has to dive to the floor to reach a ball or just the jumping and jolting of regular volley ball play. What happens if she has a miscarriage? That's right, they sue the school, of course! Have people lost their mind? Of course, this is a single parent family and the baby's dad is gone. You want to know what's wrong with our country? Well this little story tells it all! No damn common sense. It's all about me. It's what I want. This mom instead of preaching personal responsibility to her daughter and question why she got pregnant in the first place (ignorance is not an issue anymore with sex education being taught to 8 yo kids) and why it is not a good idea to expose your baby to trauma in the womb, she is backing this 17 year old's decision. Who the hell is driving the car? Where has parenting gone?
I agree, AP, we are in bizarro world. The nuts are running the asylum. To clarify the situation with these Seals, they were scheduled to go to an Admiral's Mast which is like traffic court but instead requested a trial by jury with legal representation so that they could get their story out. I think they made the right (if not gutsy) decision. If Obama had a set, he would pardon them immediately. But, of course, he would have to have 13 meetings first so he could make up his mind and have to explain to George Soros why he was doing it.
A sad thing is that military officer's are so PC because they want to make sure they do not have any controversial marks on their record for advancement. I got out of the Navy in 1997 and could not stomach the PC crap that was becoming more pervasive. For almost 2 centuries the military was a man's world. They bore the burden of defending our freedom's. With the augmentation of the red cross then the WAC's, WAF's and WAVE's in WW2 women began to serve but were separated from men. Now they are all integrated together. They, train together and serve together. PC in the military came out of this integration. When I first went into the Army in 1968 cussing, girly pictures, dark humor was a way of life and a way to cope with the death and destruction around us. With the advent of women being incorporated into previous all male units, this changed. Now you were OFFENDING others and could be court martialed. After "Tail-Hook" that was it. When I was in the Reserves we had to have mandatory "sensitivity" training every Sunday at our monthly duty. Now it's OK to kill the enemy but if someone goes into your private space and finds something offensive you are in trouble. Thank Bill Clinton for all this.
Holder is definitely subversive. He advised Clinton to grant clemency to the Boricua Popular Army which is listed by the FBI as a terrorist organization. He was also instrumental in the pardon of Marc Rich a commodities trader that made back room deals with Iran for oil in the late 70's and early 80's even though we had hostages in Iran at that time and was dealing with the radical Ayatollah Khomeni.
Terrorists are not covered by the Geneva Convention as well as non-uniformed combatants who are considered spys and could be executed on the spot. Holder's excuse for bringing them to the US is because they killed civilians. I guess the military personnel that were killed in the Pentagon don't count. It is such an obvious political stunt to embarass the Bush administration and expose, so-called torture, water boarding. It is disgraceful. This obama administration will stoop to any level to promote their agenda.
Michelle, during the campaign said this was the "first time she was proud to be an American" referencing her husbands nomination, well, this is the first time I am truly embarassed to be an American.
