Equal and universal access to health care should be a right not a privilege of American citizenship, and not only available to those who can afford it or pay the most for it.
But there are costs to providing healthcare and it should be reserved for the legal citizens who pay into our systems to support it. We can not support those who come to this country illegally and often with the very purpose of using and abusing our government programs and systems. We cannot grant access to some while then denying coverage to our legal citizens, whose work and taxes, make such care possible, but for one reason or another do not currently receive health care coverage from their work, or are self employed, unemployed or not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
Non citizens who are in this country legally, for work or other reasons should have access to basic and emergency services just as anyone else, but the costs for these services must then be covered by the country or businesses that bring them into the United States.
