Well, to many it will be something to knock him with. I do not think he was insensitive at all, just a poor choice of words. I don't fault him, those who dislike him will always find fault.

Ya know - he is human. If we continue to only pick apart people we may as well as them to show up for a taped session, read the monitor and become robots. He recognized the error and apologized. Who among us has never said anything we wish we could take back!

I think it was unfortunate but an apology should end the discussion. We all say things that we regret almost immediately. He did not intend to hurt anyone. He was attempting to put himself down in a humourous way and made an unfortunate comparison. I am sure many who compete in the Special Olympics were hurt by the remark and President Obama is probably suffering as well knowing that he caused pain to that group of people.

Well, from my calculations to meet the number of W's gaffe's he still has about a billion to go to even come close.  It was a bad choice of words, but I don't think he was trying to be insensitive, he is human and sometimes we all put our foot in it. I like that he went on Leno.  It shows that he's a real guy and not this untouchable power figure that likes everyone to think they're a better person than you are.

I think it is just another case of much ado about nothing.  I am a staunch Republican and would love to see Obama lay an egg, but this is certainly not it.  I was much more offended by Michele Obama's comment about sounding like a "white girl".

Being a bit blurry-eyed this a.m.; I stayed awake long enough to watch Leno all the way through.

Although a bit of a faux pax on Obama's behalf; I'm sure it wasn't intentional on the President's part when he made mention of the Special Olympics the way he did. I'm sure he did his share of self-chastisement after the show.

Let's quit attacking our new President (and his wife) for every little mishap that comes along. Hate to tell you this guys, but this family is HUMAN and being such, make human mistakes...as we all do. Let's not blow this little mistake in his speech all out of proportion and get on with the important issues at hand.

To put in a small comment on Garth Brooks; I was totally blown away that a man of such superstardom was given only a few short minutes to sing a song in the same capacity that an end-of-show 'new talent' might get. This man should have gotten almost as much attention as the President did. I sure hope this short appearance means that Garth is making a comeback. Jay, bring Garth back soon with more time for a Q and A...perhaps on your new show.

That, said and done...One of Leno's best shows ever!
