NyQuil and Cefprozil together?

I was prescribed Cefprozil 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. The Nyquil I was taking seems to help more then the pills. As a healthy 58 year old woman, can I take both for 3 or 4 days until the sore throat, runny nose, cough clear up enough for me to sleep? I know to take the Cefprozil until it is completely gone.

I know that mixing meds can be harmfull in most cases. Why don't you call the pharmacy and ask if this will be safe for you. As far as the med that was precribed I am unfamiliar with this antibiotic. I do know that from time to time I need a sleep aid to help me. I asked my Dr. if nyquil was safe she said in terms for sleep aid benadryl is safer it has less fillers and there is ingredients in that i don't need. In my personal opinion it makes my nose,mouth, and throat sore which sometimes causes my throat to burn but, in your case it might be a great alternitive for your cold symptoms. I wish you the best with your recovery a cold severe enough for antibiotics can really take a toll on your entire being so hopefully you will feel better soon. Also the antibiotic usually will start to work with in the first couple of days. Take care and please call the pharmacy only they could give you credible advice.
